Midwestern State University and West Texas A&M University are proud to announce the First United Bank Highway 287 Challenge Cup, a competitive series between the athletic programs of the MSU Mustangs and the WT Buffaloes. US Highway 287 connects the communities of Wichita Falls and Amarillo/Canyon.
The Challenge, which originated at the request of both student bodies in 2012, tracks head-to-head match-ups and conference championship results in 10 sports between MSU and WT, with each school accumulating points toward the overall series championship.
Congrats to West Texas A&M for winning inaugural challenge, 13-12

As part of our on-going commitment to the area and the communities we serve, First United Bank is proud to sponsor the Highway 287 Challenge Cup between Midwestern State University and West Texas A&M University. These two fine schools have solid foundations and provide first class educations to many in our region. The friendly competition that this challenge represents will be rewarding not only for the respective student athletes but a prideful competition for the entire student bodies and fans alike. Sporting events between these two Lone Star Conference leaders have always been close and exciting. The quest for the Challenge Cup Trophy should be no different. We wish both the Buffaloes and the Mustangs the best of luck as they embark on this competition.
